With reference to your letters of 24th January 1893 and 14th December 1892 on the subject of the plot of land near Belcher's Battery asked for by the Colonial Government for forming a right of way near Queen's Road; I am directed by the Secretary of State for War to acquaint you for the information of the Marquess of Ripon that instructions were forwarded to the General Commanding at Hong Kong on the 8th June last. A copy of the instructions is enclosed.
Pending the settlement of the question of the Hongkong lands generally, it was thought that the instructions issued would meet the requirements of the Colony.
